Fire Truck Accident

Four Asheville firefighters are taken to the hospital after their truck was involved in a bad wreck on Saturday night.

The accident happened on Patton Ave. Highway Patrol says the fire engine had its lights and sirens on when a pickup truck didn't yield and hit the engine nearly head-on. The firefighters and the driver of the pickup were taken to the hospital. No one was seriously injured.

The Asheville Fire Dept. says people should use this as a reminder to yield to emergency vehicles when they see them on the road with their lights and sirens on. AFD says you should stop and pull as far to the right of the road as possible.

The driver of the pickup is facing charges from Saturday's accident. Highway Patrol says the accident is still under investigation.
