Macon County Shop With A Cop

Almost 200 Macon County children were treated to a Christmas shopping trip with their own personal Santas Tuesday. Most of those Kris Kringles wear badges. Shop With A Cop is a sheriff's office tradition, offering a little holiday boost for families that can use one.

Folks across Macon County hold fundraisers year-round with the focus on this one day.

Among the many shoppers at the Walmart in Franklin, there were lots of folks in uniform patrolling aisles on a special assignment.

About 150 lawmen and women, first-responders, even some National Guard MP's pitched in to help local children Christmas shop for themselves and their families.

Once the shopping was over, everybody went-out for dinner. That's another part of the Shop With A Cop Tradition. The local chapter of the Enforcers Motorcycle Club also pitched-in to buy each of the kids a winter coat.
