Shooting Suspect In Court
The man accused of shooting at Asheville Police officers made his first appearance in court Friday.
18-year-old Kewan Shade is charged with five counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill. He is also charged with two counts of assault with a firearm on law enforcement.
In court, the judge kept shade's bond at $350,000. He also told the judge he plans to hire his own attorney.
Thursday afternoon, police say he began shooting at them while they were taking a different man into custody in the Shiloh area. No one was hurt.
Shade's next court appearance is set for January 10th.
