Courthouse Set To Close
The federal courthouse in Bryson City will close at the end of the year to save taxpayers' dollars. According to the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts, Bryson City is one of four court facilities across the country to close its doors. The move will save more than $127,000, but it will be an inconvenience for Swain County residents. A probation office in Bryson City will also close in 2015, saving an additional $40,000 a year.
