Affordable Care Act Town Hall
The Affordable Care Act was the subject of a News 13 Town Hall Thursday night at the WNC Ag Center.
The Affordable Care Act has been a hot button issue since it was first signed into law by President Obama in 2010. The state of our country's health care was up for debate Thursday night. A panel of experts took questions from the crowd. People weighed in online also on News 13's Facebook page and Twitter, sharing their comments and asking questions.
The Town Hall helped clear up a lot of questions about ObamaCare. We heard from businesses owners, cancer patients and seniors. All looking for insight about how and if they can make the Affordable Care Act work for them.
A local business owner said insurance for her 600 employees has gone up 85 percent over the past three years.
She says the skyrocketing prices are making healthcare unaffordable.
Experts say ultimately it's up to you to do your own research about healthcare and what you need and can afford.
WMYA will air a replay of the Town Hall on the Affordable Care Act this Saturday, February 1st from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
