A meth bust in the mountains could be historic. Polk County deputies arrived at a Green Creek residence to serve a search warrant late Thursday and walked in to find a meth lab still smoking.
38-year-old Billy Carr and 50-year-old Harold Bailey, both from Spartanburg, were arrested at the scene. Officers went on to find 15 labs in all, making it possibly the largest meth operation ever discovered in the county.
"I just don't think people should do something like this in a neighborhood where there's children, people, church right here next door," said Johnny Joines.
Officials say more people could be arrested in connection with this case.
Carr and Bailey are behind bars Friday night facing meth manufacturing and possession charges.
