Gas Line Repairs

Crews have been working around the clock to make repairs after a gas line exploded on Sand Hill Road in the Enka community on Friday.

Asheville Public Works crews filled in a big hole in the road left behind by the explosion. They say they will repave the road on Sunday and expect it to be back open by Sunday night.

PSNC Energy said they had restored gas to 400 of the 700 homes affected by Saturday afternoon. They say the cause of the gas explosion is still under investigation.
