Marion Store Robbery Investigation
Police are looking for the woman who robbed a store in Marion Tuesday. Investigators say she walked into Fred's on North Main Street and demanded money. An employee said she initially thought the robbery was a joke, but quickly learned it was anything but.
Detectives tell News 13 the female suspect approached the office area at Fred's store just after 3 p.m. Tuesday afternoon. She was dressed in a grey hooded sweatshirt with a tan scarf. Police say after being greeted by an employee, she handed them a note. Workers who were in the store when the robbery happened tell News 13 her note said she had a gun. Investigators have not released that information to News 13, but did say the suspect got away with an undisclosed amount of money.
Marion Police say the woman was last seen running on the side walk toward Jim Cook Chevrolet. Employees believe she went up these nearby steps and to an apartment complex behind the store. Police say officers canvassed the area, but were unable to find the suspect.
