Involuntary Manslaughter Plea Deal
A man who was charged with second-degree murder in the death of his friend pleads guilty to a lesser charge. Roy Fisher plead guilty to involuntary manslaughter on Monday.
In May 2012, Fisher was accused of beating Randal Honeycutt at the Bonaire Motel in Hendersonville after the two got in a fight. Honeycutt later died.
The District Attorney said both men had a long history of alcohol abuse and that Fisher had sought mental health services the day before Honeycutt was beaten. However, he was turned away.
Fisher was sentenced to between two years and nine months or four years and three months in jail.
