Well Rescue, Boy Released From Hospital
The 11-year-old boy who was rescued from a well Tuesday night has been released from the hospital.
Emery Howard was treated for a broken arm and hypothermia after spending more than three hours in the 150-foot well. Authorities say he fell in while playing with a friend in an abandoned house.
Lieutenant Adam Moss, with the Greenville Emergency Response Team helped the responding fire department rescue Howard. He says the entire rescue was a team effort and he shouldn't receive the only credit.
The Howard family released the following statement:
Emery is doing well, and we thank his friend Larry Lindsey and the first responders for their quick actions that saved his life. We are also thankful for the prayers and kind thoughts from many people."
