UPDATE: Silver Alert Canceled
The Silver Alert for a missing Henderson County woman is canceled. Henderson County Deputies tell us Carol Lynn Petersen was located in Colorado late Friday night. She is said to be safe and was not injured.
Henderson County Sheriff's investigators say they have a new lead into the disappearance of 22-year-old Carol Lynn Peterson. Chief Deputy Frank Stout says detectives have a lead on activity on Carol's debit card account.
"Some information has come in," said Chief Deputy Stout. "So we are working on that as we speak."
The Sheriff's department issued a Silver Alert Friday with family reporting Carol missing. She was last seen with her boyfriend, Brian Keith Medley. Carol's older sister Leslee, 24, tells News 13 her sister has been diagnosed with Schizo-affective disorder making her unable, she says, to make rational decisions without medication.
"She does not have the cognition to be making these decisions for herself," said Leslee Peterson. "She has been on disability for over a year."
Her sister says she is concerned Carol's boyfriend is dangerous.
"I'm very concerned for many reasons about the man she's currently with," said Leslee.
News 13 has learned Carol and her Brian were living with Brian's father in a rural subdivision outside Hendersonville for the last several months. Brian's father would not speak with News 13 on camera but said he asked the couple to leave when they began fighting in his house the first week of January. He also said he heard from his son Brian last Tuesday and Brian he told Carol was fine. He said he has not heard from his son since.
"We do know for a fact she was seen last weekend and our information that came to us was she was fine," said Chief Deputy Stout. Still Investigators want to make sure she's safe and are asking anyone with information to call the Henderson County Sheriff's Department.
