Frigid Temperatures Close Businesses Early
Some local businesses weren't taking any chances on the weather tonight. The Cantina in Historic Biltmore Village closed it's doors to customers at 4 p.m. Monday. The owner tells News 13 several factors played a big role in cutting her employees early. She says the most important reason was making sure all of them could get home safely.
"We have some folks that are driving to Marion tonight so just with the black ice and some fears we just want to make sure everybody is safe," said Sherrye Coggiola, owner of the Cantina Biltmore.
The Hop, on the other hand, didn't let the bitter cold temperatures stop them from dishing out several scoops of ice cream. They operated under normal business hours today and the owner says their sales were on point for an average winter day.
