Death Investigation Continues
New information in the investigation surrounding the death of 77-year-old Rosalie Catt at an adult care facility. The death happened at the Angel House Family Care Homes on Hornot Circle in Asheville January 22nd. Rescue workers arrived to find Rosalie Catt unconscious. She later died at the hospital. The death certificate shows she was exposed to frigid air and it lists the contributing cause of death as hypothermia. The report does not show whether that exposure was inside or outside.
Emergency room physician and medical director of the Sisters of Mercy Urgent Care says it's important to closely monitor the condition of any elderly person during bitter cold weather.
"It would be extremely helpful for a family member or a neighbor to check on them, to make sure they have what they need, make sure that the heat is working, adequate temperature, make sure they have hot food and hot drinks," said Dr. Ellen Lawson.
News 13 tried to speak to Angel Homes owner and operator Bianka Faison Grey, but were told she would be unavailable for several days.
