Snowstorm Surviving Puppy Named "Pax"
A cuddly snowstorm survivor's story draws huge interest on social media.
The Asheville Humane Society named the stray dog, "Pax." That's the name the Weather Channel called the epic storm that rocked the mountains.
The two month old was found in Leicester on Wednesday during the snowfall and was turned in by good samaritans. The Lab-Sharpei mix had a ruptured intestine and needed emergency surgery at REACH Hospital.
The Humane Society's Facebook posts generated almost $1,400 in donations towards his medical costs.
"From the time that he came in he has never realized that he was injured," says Miranda Tipton of Asheville Humane. "He's always in good nature and good spirits. He's a big fan of giving everyone kisses."
Doctors originally thought Pax had a 50-50 chance of survival. He's still receiving round the clock medical care and isn't available for adoption just yet.
