Henderson Co. Winter Conditions

No major incidents have been reported early this evening in Henderson County but that doesn't mean emergency management officials are scaling back on their efforts.

Officials are expecting to see more snow, enough to make conditions unbearable.

Right now anywhere between 1 and 3 inches is on the ground. The snow is sticking to the roadways and making things slick but things are not as bad as expected.

So far only 11 accidents have been reported in the county. Emergency management says that's because folks are staying home and off the road.

That is also helping road crews plow and salt the roads. DOT officials tell News 13 they are working hard to stay ahead of this storm and their efforts aren't going noticed.

John Eubanks, Henderson County resident, "it seems like they're trying to get it all clear and getting the roads clear, it's gonna fill back up but they'll keep scraping and try and keep it safe for everybody it's probably the best thing.

Many folks were out and about in downtown Hendersonville today, walking around and enjoying the scenery.

We'll continue to monitor the situation and bring you updates as the evening continues.
