ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) —
Buncombe County commissioners will have a public hearing during their meeting Tuesday to discuss cryptocurrency mining.

The commissioners are considering an ordinance to put a temporary moratorium on crypto mining.
Residents in Cherokee County said last month the "mining operations" require large, loud computers running 24/7.
Buncombe and other counties like Haywood, Macon and Jackson are now taking pre-emptive measures to restrict or ban mining.
