ASK THE VET: Dogs licking paws, heartworm medication, and eating something strange

Dr. Mark Wysocki of Avery Creek Pet Hospital visits the News 13 studio to answer viewers' pet questions every two weeks on Sunday morning.

Becky Stevens said, “My dog is licking his paws excessively and they are getting sores. Why do they do this and what can I do to get him to stop?”

Marge Ann Pettigrew Stephans asked, “Why does a dog go and eats another dog’s poop? Or eats acorns?”

Page Miller said, “Now that it is autumn, when can I stop giving my dog his heartworm and flea preventatives?”
