Carolina Kitchen: Swiss cheese, chestnut & bacon dip

  • 1 bottle Hormel real bacon bits
  • 8 oz. softened cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup Dukes mayonnaise
  • 2 rounded tsp prepared Dijon style mustard
  • 1-1/2 cup shredded Swiss cheese
  • 3 chopped green onions (or one small white onion)
  • 4 oz. finely chopped water chestnuts
  • 1/2 cup smoked almonds, coarsely chopped (for the top)
  • Baby carrots; and or flat breads, cocktail sized pumpernickel or any other dipping breads.


  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. In mixing bowl, combine all ingredients except almonds.
  3. Bake 15 minutes or until golden and bubbly at edges.
  4. Top with chopped almonds.
  5. Place on a casserole on a platter and surround warm casserole with breads and carrots for dipping.
