BUNCOMBE COUNTY, N.C. (WLOS) — Waking up constantly during the night was common for Bryton.
"It was exhausting," the 2-year-old boy's mother, Jen Lingle, recalled.
"You really get to a point where you're like, 'We can't keep this up for much longer,'" dad Phil Lingle said. "Something's got to give."
Jen added, "I remember being fearful about calling for help, because I didn't want him crying."
Certified sleep consultant Kim Rogers helped the family establish a structured routine, with Bryton selecting his stuffed animals and self-soothing into long, restful sleep with the toys by his side.
After following the sleep consultant's recommendations for only three nights, there was already a big difference.
"When you have that routine and you're consistently using that routine and know what you're supposed to do, it makes life so much easier," Jen explained.
"It's amazing," Rogers said. "It takes consistency to keep it going. It's not like it's one and done."
But, it's already made for a healthier, happier, and more restful home.
