A Weaverville man charged with murder in a deadly shooting in Asheville has been arrested again for violating his pretrial terms.

Derrick Edwards, 24, is charged with first-degree murder in the death of 18-year-old Clarence Williams.

On March 13, Edwards was given a bond with a stipulation that he wear an electronic monitoring device.

According to a pretrial services violation report, he admitted to going swimming after being instructed not to submerge the device in water, causing damage.

Edwards is accused of fatally shooting Williams outside of the Dollar General store on Patton Avenue on January 19, 2018.

He is now being held with no bond.
