20-year-old woman found shot to death in Myrtle Beach motel room

A young woman's death in being investigated as a homicide after her body was found in a motel room early Monday morning in Myrtle Beach, according to Capt. Joey Crosby with the Myrtle Beach police.

The body of Colee Muirhead, 20, of Myrtle Beach, was found in a room at the Beachcomber Ocean Front Inn on South Ocean Boulevard at approximately 1:16 a.m., according to officials.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found that she had been shot. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Police responded to the initial call, found her body, and then investigators and crime scene officers were called to the scene to take over the investigation, according to Crosby.

No arrests have been made and detectives have not yet established a specific motive for the shooting, but believe this is an isolated incident, Crosby said.
