Graham motorcade arrives in Charlotte, taking 'America's Pastor' to lie in repose
On Saturday, people got the chance to say goodbye to the beloved Reverend Billy Graham.
His body was taken from The Cove in Asheville to the Billy Graham Library in Charlotte
It was an emotional day for the Graham family, and everyone whose life was impacted by the reverend.
The motorcade arrived in Charlotte around 3 p.m. Family stood together as Rev. Graham's casket was taken into a private viewing area.
Though the public was not allowed inside, people made it a point to catch a glimpse of the motorcade as it drove by.
"I'm here today not only to show respect for the family, but for him as well, because I I feel like he is America's last great American Christian, and all of us need to know Jesus Christ," said Lane Thevaos of Charlotte.
The public will have another chance to pay their respects next Monday and Tuesday as Rev. Graham's body lies in repose in the Billy Graham Library.
From there Graham's body will be taken to Washington, D.C., where he will lie in honor in the Capitol Rotunda.
