UPDATE: Police arrest stabbing suspect

UPDATE: 8:15 p.m. Asheville police say Thorpe has been located and is now in custody.

Asheville police have identified the victim and the suspect in a fatal stabbing at an Asheville apartment complex.

Police say they are looking for a suspect they describe as armed and dangerous.

The Asheville Police Department has taken out warrants on 53-year old Cecil Ambrose Thorpe for second-degree murder in the death of the man who died in a Sunday morning stabbing incident.

Thorpe is described as a black male, 5'7" and weighing approximately 150 pounds. He has brown eyes, salt-and-pepper hair and a a salt-and-pepper beard.

On Sunday, January 21, 2018 at 10:32 a.m. the Asheville Police Department responded to Pisgah View Apartments after reports of a stabbing.

Upon arrival officers located 39-year old Justin Paul Digiacomo suffering from a stab wound to the upper torso. Digiacomo succumbed to his injuries.

Originally from Ohio, Digiacomo had lived in Asheville since 2008.

Investigators are following up on leads and encourage anyone with information about the incident, or who knows Thorpe's location, to contact the Asheville Police Department at 828-252-1110 or Crime Stoppers at 828-255-5050.

Police say the suspect took off on foot after the stabbing.
