With a winter storm warning predicting multiple inches of snow in Asheville Saturday through Monday, ART bus will suspend transit service at 2 p.m. today.

This will give the buses time to come out of service before major road safety hazards occur.

“Our goal is always to keep our buses running and on schedule, but we need to balance that with ensuring the safety of our passengers and drivers, particularly in snow or icy road situations,” said Transportation Assistant Director Jessica Morriss.

Once roads are safe for the buses, service will resume as quickly as possible.
