Asheville police search for suspect after man killed in weekend shooting

Asheville Police are continuing their investigation into a shooting late Saturday at Asheville’s Lee Walker Heights housing project that left one man dead and another injured.

Officers were called to the public housing project just after 9 p.m. Saturday after reports of a person being shot.

Police say they found two victims at the scene suffering from “life-threatening gunshot wounds.” They were both transported to Mission Hospital where Devon Jervay Harvin, 21, died of his injuries.

The other victim, who has not been identified at this time, is listed in stable condition.

Police say the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
