Asheville restaurant raises money for Rise as One project

Money raised at a popular downtown restaurant will help a local woman with a global mission.

Chai Pani donated a portion of its proceeds Wednesday night to an Asheville yoga instructor and founder of Dobra Tea who has been selected to travel to India in the fall.

She'll be joining just a handful of yogis to help build a girl's home for young girls often forced into marriage or trafficking. The program will educate girls living in poverty to give them the chance to become working women.

"Being connected locally with Dobra Tea and to Linsday (Thomas) and then being able to watch this initiative unfold in India is going to be a really cool thing for us," Chai Pani's Molly Milroy said.
