A new mixed-use development will be coming to Asheville's River Arts District.

Thursday, the planning and design review committee approved the Radview project.

The space will have 26 residential units.

According to the developer, almost all of them will be relatively affordable, with rent under $1,000 a month.

The apartments will all be over one level of office and artist studio spaces.

Developer Jeremy Goldstein said this will be a great space for people who live and work in the River Arts District

"It's not in the floodplain," added Goldstein. "It's right in central RAD. It's got great views. It's close to the bus routes. It's close to the bike routes. It's a phenomenal site."

The project will be finalized after it goes through the technical review committee.

Construction is planned for early next year.
