Authorities asking for help finding suspects after thieves attempt to use stolen card

    McDowell County authorities are asking for help identifying two women who they say attempted to make a purchase at Walmart with a debit card stolen from Old Fort.

    Authorities say on the morning of Thursday, March 7, 2019, a vehicle was reportedly broken into and property stolen, including a wallet and sunglasses.

    At 4:44 a.m. that same morning, two women, driving the featured car, were captured on surveillance video trying to purchase $219.69 worth of merchandise from Walmart, but the transaction was declined.

    Anyone with information concerning the identities of the suspects is asked to call the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office at 828-652-2237 or McDowell County Crime Stoppers at 65-CRIME (652-7463).
