SEPT. 23, 2021 - Two Transylvania Regional Hospital board members resigned by way of publishing an op-ed in The Transylvania Times Thursday, Sept. 23, citing concerns over HCA Healthcare's management of the rural hospital since it took over earlier this year. Brevard Councilwoman Maureen Copelof is now going directly to the hospital's president, seeking answers and a meeting to talk about whether HCA would consider putting the hospital up for sale so it could be managed by what she said would be a firm with a vested interest in providing rural hospital healthcare.
