ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — Some big changes in the works for Asheville’s South Slope as Burial Beer Co. solidifies its roots in its birthplace by purchasing new property adjacent to its original taproom and beer garden.
The building, formally Asheville Hardware, will be home to Burial’s ever-expanding barrel aging program, VISUALS tasting room and wine bar, rooftop deck and bar and new retail shop. “In addition to expanding our barrel aging program, this new property will provide us with an opportunity to showcase our VISUALS wines, ciders and vermouths and build upon our commitment to our community by providing space to work with some Asheville makers who deserve an opportunity to let their visions fly” says Doug Reiser, Co-Founder and COO of Burial.
BURIAL BEER CO. HONORS BLUE RIDGE PARKWAY
The property will also serve as Burial’s packaging facility to meet the needs of its nation-wide shipping program. “We started our shipping program at the beginning of the pandemic and it has allowed our customers across the country to bring the Burial experience into their own home” states Tim Gormley, Co-Founder and Director of Development.
RESIDENTS SAY SOUTH SLOPE COULD BECOME MORE THAN JUST A PLACE FOR TOURISTS TO DRINK
In keeping with its core values, Burial aims to build out this property with the same revivalist spirit that has guided the whole of its expansion. “South Slope is where it all started” Jess Reiser, Co-Founder and CEO of Burial Beer Co. states. “This community has supported us from the beginning. We look forward to digging in and continuing to grow in the neighborhood that drew us here. We can't wait to see what further creativity will come with more opportunities to expand our offerings."
