Buncombe County commissioners cut the ribbon on addition at HHS building
After months of construction, the north wing of the new Buncombe County Health and Human Services building is officially open for business.
Buncombe County commissioners cut the ribbon on the facility at 40 Coxe Ave. on Tuesday afternoon.
The new addition includes an eight-story public parking garage, allowing clients better access to the essential services.
"There will be ways for folks to come in and check in very confidently and then be called up to the front. Also, you can get multiple services here at the same time, so you don't have to go to multiple locations," Buncombe County HHS director Stoney Blevens said.
Services at the new facility include adult protective services, child care subsidy, food assistance and Medicade.
