Buncombe County School Board will meet Thursday evening, Aug. 5, to finalize its mask policy for the start of the school year.
ASHEVILLE CITY SCHOOLS WILL REQUIRE MASKS FOR UPCOMING SCHOOL YEAR
In a special called session Thursday morning, the board voted 4-to-2 that face coverings be required for staff and students in grades K-13 inside school buildings.
The board also stated that both students and staff can voluntarily provide proof of vaccination in order to be exempted from the mask requirements. There are also exemptions for those with medical or behavioral needs.
HENDERSON COUNTY SCHOOL LEADERS DECIDE TO MAKE MASKS OPTIONAL FOR STUDENTS, STAFF
The board will hold its regular meeting tonight at 5:30 p.m. and take public comment. Also at tonight's meeting, the board will discuss COVID protocols for indoor athletics.
