Cajun Cook-Off Gives Asheville a Taste of Mardi Gras


Local cooks go head to head at the Mill Room in Asheville for the Asheville Mardi Gras Cajun Cook-off. They compete in different categories of cajun cuisine. The celebration, complete with music and entertainment, is also preparing Asheville for the Mardi Gras Parade.

The parade is set for Sunday, February 7, at 3:05pm on Wall Street. The group is still looking for volunteers to help complete the float.

The Cook-off also helped out the hungry. Cans of food were collected at the door for Manna Food Bank.
