Asheville-based CarePartners Foundation has a new name. The nonprofit will now be called WNC Bridge Foundation.

Because CarePartners Health Services is now part of HCA, it will no longer need support of the foundation.

The Bridge Foundation will continue to support mountain care, which includes adult day services, grief support and MountainCare music therapy.

"Hospice, home health, pace and rehabilitation, those service lines went with that HCA transaction. However, WNC Bridge Foundation will still be funding and supporting MountainCare," WNC Bridge Foundation grants officer Meg white said.

WNC Bridge Foundation will also fundraise on behalf of the Rathbun House, the only hospitality house in Western North Carolina.

"The new name – WNC Bridge Foundation – allows us to emphasize our overall goal of forming partnerships in health with the 18 counties of Western North Carolina," president and CEO of WNC Bridge Foundation Scott Buchanan said in a news release. "As a nonprofit with its roots in elder care, we remain committed to helping heal wounds, hold hands and restore hearts — for the residents of Western North Carolina."
