Carolina Panthers sale a done deal?
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WLOS-TV) - Charlotte city leaders are working to confirm a report out of New York that the Carolina Panthers team has been sold. According to our media partners, WSOC-TV, a reporter in New York has reported that David Tepper has finalized an agreement to buy the team. Tepper is a minority owner of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
At Monday night's city council meeting, Charlotte Mayor Vi Lyles says the city has not confirmed the deal. She anticipates an official announcement will be made Tuesday.
Three-fourths of NFL owners have to approve the deal. That could happened during the NFL Spring meetings next week in Atlanta, GA.
