Colburn Earth Science Museum gets nearly $28,000 in grant money
ASHEVILLE, N.C. -- An Asheville museum received a huge check in the name of science on Tuesday.
The Wells Fargo Foundation gave a nearly $28,000 grant to the Colburn Earth Science Museum.
Those dollars will be used to purchase equipment for the Asheville Museum of Science.
They plan to buy everything from a 3D printer to a new laptop. Every dime helps the museum build a new state of the art facility.
"With Colburn's new mission and vision, we hope the innovation technology and different equipment that's gonna be facilitated by this is going to be an integral part of their expansion into the WNC community," Matthew Maultsby, a business specialist, said.
Along with this donation, Colburn Museum hopes to raise more money at their "Under the Stars" benefit on Thursday, June 9, at the Boathouse on Smoky Park.
