Colburn Earth Science Museum Kicks off Fundraiser
ASHEVILLE, N.C. -- The Colburn Earth Science Museum kicked off its new fundraising campaign on Wednesday.
The museum hopes to raise $1.2 million to pay for its move from Pack Place to the Wells Fargo building down the street.
When it opens, the museum will rebrand itself as the Asheville Museum of Science.
"It's really exciting. I've been involved with the museum for a year now, but only in this capacity for a few months, and it's been a whirlwind," Science Museum Executive Director Anna Priest said. "I've enjoyed every minute, which we've had so much wonderful support already from the community."
Organizers hope to have the new Asheville science museum open by next spring.
