Swannanoa fire crews confirm a structure fire broke out Saturday morning at 8:15 a.m. near 1640 Tunnel Road.

Battalion Chief Dennis Gregory said that when crews arrived, the house, which appears to have been abandoned, was "well involved."

He says crews were able to search 30 percent of the house before the roof collapsed. No firefighters were injured in the collapse.

As soon as it's safe, Gregory says crews will be able to go back inside and inspect the house, which appears to be a total loss.

Gregory also said investigators are en route.

Two lanes of Tunnel Road were blocked while crews fought the fire.
