11th District Republican Mark Meadows won the Republican primary for his seat in Western North Carolina. Meadows is chairman of the House Freedom Caucus seeking a fourth term in the 11th District.

The morning after the primary election, Congressman Meadows told News 13, in the months leading up to the election, he intends to continue doing the job he was elected to do, β€œit's really not about campaigning, it's not about the Democrat nominee it's about getting the job done for the American people, the people I have the privilege of representing. So, we're going to focus on that.”

On the Democratic side, Phillip Price, the self-proclaimed "bit of a hippie at heart" beat Steve Woodsmall of Brevard and Scott Donaldson of Hendersonville in Tuesday's 11th District primary.

Price will go head to head with Meadows this November.
