DOT crews in WNC are ready for latest round of winter weather
A NCDOT district engineer said crews are on standby, ready to respond to whatever weather comes this weekend. Crews couldn’t prepare the roads during the day, because rain would have washed away salt and/or sand.
"We’ll be ready with salt, sand as needed should the temperatures drop and icy patches and/or snow develop," NCDOT district engineer Troy Wilson said. "We'll be prepared to handle whatever comes our way.”
He said the DOT said it is fully stocked with salt and supplies.
