A local shop is set to open its newest production facility near Biltmore Village.

East Fork revitalized the Kenny Pipe Building on Short McDowell Street. It will now house the company's new ceramics manufacturing and shipping facility. There will also be photo and video studios, as well as a commercial kitchen.

The owner said this will open many new doors.

"We were on an old tobacco farm. You couldn't get a big truck in there. There was no pavement. We couldn't have a fork lift. We didn't have the power we would've needed," East Fork owner Alex Matisse said. "So, it was just the time to scale up our business and move into a space that would support that growth."

East Fork, founded in 2009, specializes in pottery, making everything from bowls to vases.
