Enka plant evacuated after fire, possibly caused by lightning strike
Sudden severe weather has possibly caused the evacuation of an Enka business.
Officials believe the Coca-Cola bottling plant on Sand Hill Road was struck by lightning.
Crews from multiple fire departments responded to the call at about 2:30 p.m., and say they found an electrical fire burning inside.
No one was hurt.
The Buncombe County fire marshal's office tells us an investigation is underway to confirm whether or not the building was struck by lightning.
