Rutherford County, N.C. (WLOS) —
UPDATE: The Rutherford County Sheriff's Department says Patricia Lynn Murray "has been located and is safe"
The family of a Rutherford County woman is asking for help after she went missing a week ago.
47-year-old Patricia Lynn Murray hasn't been seen since Friday, September 29, 2017. On Monday, October 2, 2017, her son, Galen Briggs, filed a missing person.
“She’s been gone too long, and I started getting scared and got nervous about it,” said Briggs. “She hasn’t been returning any of our telephone calls, texts.”
Briggs and his sister, Jennifer Murray, were posting missing signs throughout Rutherford County on Thursday. They were also asking drivers if they have seen their mother.
“She’s always getting on us to contact her about not answering our phones,” said Briggs. “She’s very concerned about us all the time. It’s not like her.”
“She’s a single mom of nine, and five of us are still in her home,” said Jennifer Murray. “Three of us, including myself, are pregnant, and she stays on us.”
Briggs and Murray said their mom is very organized and would have packed toiletries if she were leaving. They said the only clothes she has is what she was wearing. She also would have taken her asthma medication and oxygen tanks.
Patricia Murray is a black female with shoulder length black hair and brown eyes. She is 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs about 300 pounds. She drives a Dark Grey Honda with a Dallas Cowboy license on the front with the name PATRICIA on it.
