Police release names in fatal Spindale shooting, one in custody charged with murder

SEPT. 18, 2023 - On Monday, Sept. 18, 2023, officers with the Spindale Police Department were dispatched to the Stagecoach Motel in Spindale in reference to a shooting. Authorities found Marianna Woods outside of a motel room with multiple gunshot wounds. Woods was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities identified Darrin Marquis Ross, 23, of Shelby, as their suspect. Ross was located, taken into custody and charged with murder. (Photo credit: Terry Kuykendall)
