An overnight blaze damaged a home in Transylvania County. It started just before 11:00PM Monday on Piedmont Camp Road in Cedar Mountain.

The chief of Connestee Fire and Rescue said when he arrived on scene, the garaged was engulfed and the roof had collapsed. The fire was contained to the second floor of the 3-story, 6,000 square foot structure.

The fire chief says two people living in the home were not injured, but at least 2 firefighters suffered exhaustion. Due to the location of the home, ATV's were used to transport equipment and fire personnel to the scene.

The cause of the fire remains under instigation, but the fire chief says he believes it started in the garage.
