Police have identified a man officers shot and killed during an incident at a Fletcher pharmacy on Wednesday.

Summey said when officers arrived on scene, Shelton did not comply with commands and pointed the handgun at them.

The officers involved are now on paid administrative leave as the investigations continue.

The Fletcher CVS remained closed on Thursday. A sign on the door said all prescriptions could be picked up at the Long Shoals Road CVS.
