Flowers placed at Graham statue at Ridgecrest
Flowers were placed at the Billy Graham statue at Ridgecrest Conference Center on Wednesday.
Graham, a counselor to presidents and the most widely heard Christian evangelist in history, died Wednesday. He was 99.
The statue of Graham in front of a 17-foot-cross with arms outstretched holding an open Bible in his left hand was installed at Ridgecrest Conference Center in 2016 after being moved from LifeWay Christian Resources’ 14-acre downtown Nashville campus.
The sculpture stands near the main entrance to the conference center, just a few miles from Graham’s home in Montreat.
"God used Reverend Graham to impact many lives for His glory around the world. We mourn with the Graham family and our friends at The Cove as he will be missed, but we also rejoice in the same hope of salvation Reverend Graham shared with so many throughout his life and ministry," Art Snead, executive director of LifeWay Ridgecrest Conference Center, said in a statement.
