It was all about "girl power" at Glenn C. Marlow Elementary School in Mills River Saturday.

Thirty-five girls in 3rd, 4th and 5th grades participated in five different activities, including science, technology, engineering and math.

The STEM projects were offered with the hope of taking this experience even further.

"In the end, we want to build their confidence, increase their curiosity about STEM careers and then, for them to have fun," said Girl Power Day organizer Stephanie Patton.
