WAYNESVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) -- Waynesville police said a brick thrown through the window of the Haywood County Republican office was an act of vandalism.
It was discovered by office workers when they came to work early Thursday afternoon.
No one was in the office at the time.
The Haywood County Republican Party chairman said an act like this is simply wrong.
“People need to stand up and put a stop to this. If this had happened at the Democrat party, and I seen or knew who it was, I would be at the police station and tell them who it was,” Kenneth Henson said.
Police said this does not appear to be any kind of politically targeted vandalism. They said there was an intoxicated man in the area overnight. They do have a lead and are continuing to talk to witnesses.
