Hands On Children's Museum is expanding.

A ribbon-cutting was held Friday for the new Discovery Science classroom, a welcome center and gift shop.

There were science experiments during the celebration, and getting the word out about the STEM programs.

Executive Director Joseph Knight says the new additions will keep kids learning long after they leave.

"As you can see, we've added gift shop right behind me, which features lots of cool toys that are science-related, so after children participate in our programs or exhibits they can have a take-away to continue learning at home," Knight said.

Hands On is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
